Following the repair of the fire damage that occurred on September 11, 2008, the Channel Tunnel has reopened to traffic. UK Secretary of State for Transport Geoff Hoon gave the signal for the reopening on February 9, calling the repair of the tunnel a “fantastic achievement”.
